I am going to take a break from posting for the holidays. I
will be posting again next month in January.
I finished A Hope in
the Unseen written by Ron Suskind, last week on Friday. The novel has lots of descriptions and a lot
of detail was placed into the novel. I would not, personally, recommend this
novel. It was not to my taste and I felt the main character was not someone
that I wanted to read about. He, the main character, was too whiny in my
personal opinion. Each chapter felt too long. The novel was slow and somewhat
boring.
I also read and finished the novel, The Laughing Corpse written by Laurell K. Hamilton. It is a
supernatural series. The Laughing Corpse
is the second novel in the Anita Blake series.
The first novel is Guilty Pleasures,
which I mentioned in one of my earlier posts. I really liked this novel. I liked the
building of the characters in the novel.
We are starting to see more of Jean-Claude in this novel than in the
first. I like that the author has you
learn more and more about the main character, Anita, as the plot continues and
as the series continues.
I started the third novel in the Anita Blake series. As I
mentioned earlier, the series is in the supernatural genre. The novel is called Circus of the Damned. I am
not quite finished reading the Circus of the
Damned, but I am close to finishing. I am enthralled by this novel. The series is
very good so far and I would highly recommend if you have not read it yet.
Next time, I will be posting the reviews on two novels. The first
novel is Deadworld written by J. N.
Duncan. Deadworld is haunting and dark. This sense of a haunting nature is
because of the murders that occur during the novel and the main character’s
past that shadows her every move. This novel
is the first in the supernatural Deadworld series. This novel was very entertaining and I really
enjoyed reading it. I am looking forward
to reading the next novel in the series.
The second novel that I will be reviewing is Ill Wind. Ill Wind is written by Rachel Caine. Rachel Caine is the author of
the popular young adult Morganville Vampire series. Ill
Wind is the first novel of the Weather Warden series. It is in the supernatural genre. The novel
was a really fun read.
